He should never have got the sack but it does not mean he was right to reply in the way he did, he should have much more intelligence than that.

Why is it that whenever anyone mentions a monkey or an ape etc the right on liberals always think of black people?

It's a ridiculous reason to lose a job, but I've never liked him anyway. Comes across as a right smug CUNT.

Social media for you.

Black fella accuses someone of racism when it clearly isn't, as basically most of the world now want to read racism and offence into everything.

Not on social media at all, as I wouldn't be able to stop myself cunting these twats off.

Popbitch to the rescue!

"It's genuinely quite astonishing that a bad tweet may be the thing that ends up derailing Alastair Stewart's illustrious innings at ITV News – but not for the reasons that hysterical pundits are giving.

"Until he drastically changed his lifestyle in 2004 (after a second drink-driving offence where he rammed his car into a telegraph pole on his way home with a Chinese takeaway) tales of Alastair's hell-raising were legendary in the industry.

"At London Tonight in the 90s, it wasn't unheard of that he would have to be locked in his dressing room because he was too hammered to read the news at all, let alone on camera.

"And on one overseas trip, he got so wrecked at dinner he spent the entire journey back to his hotel vomiting. One of the crew with him was an old roadie who claimed he hadn't seen anyone that fucked since his days touring with Joe Cocker in the 60s "...and he had an arm full of heroin."

Grassed up by Kate Maltby a guardian journalist who has an issue with men.

You can even quote Shakespeare anymore without being called a racist.

mattyolmes 9:35 Thu Jan 30
Re: Alastair Stewart - worlds gone mad
Surely the racism here is with the people who assume the ape quote is upsetting to this person because he is a black person.

They're implying that a black person is like an ape?

Please note this is not my opinion, nor does its being written here imply it is the opinion of WHO, WHO members, shareholders, or their families.
Or pets
Or anyone

In other news Rachael Reilly asked twitter to look into George Galloway and Katie Hopkins accounts for hate speech.

You can probably guess who got suspended and who is still posting.

Re: Alastair Stewart - worlds gone mad
Im wrong
It was the guy ( the blacknguy) who objected

Shapland retweeted the comment and branded Stewart a "disgrace", writing: "Just an ITV newsreader referring to me as an ape with the cover of Shakespeare. Measure for measure, Alistair is a disgrace."

ITN staff petitioning and potentially strike in response

Seems like some people in the media don’t buy into this bullshit and will fight for their colleague

The world is changing

Re: Alastair Stewart - worlds gone mad
Feel for the people caught up in these purges but there is also an element of that old peoem about who the Nazis came for too*. In general, people in the public eye and elsewhere are happy to go along with the woke orthodoxy as long as it is someone else who is the target of the inquisition that week. For example, did Alistair Steward speak up when others were in the process of being taken down by the witch-hunt?

Re: Alastair Stewart - worlds gone mad
Coff I worked at ITV/ITN last year on a project and I needed to look at all aspects of their operation. When it came to the news programme, he personally invited me to watch the news being broadcast by him from the producer's gallery.

I spoke to him a fair bit, very nice bloke, absolute gentleman and extremely professional (unlike some of the producers)

Re: Alastair Stewart - worlds gone mad
Arguing with people you don’t know under your own name on social media is a sign of insanity.
Doing it as a celebrity is COMPLETELY bonkers.

Trying to win arguments by quoting Shakespeare is probably deserving of the sack by itself.

Its not like he quoted Hamlet

"Is this a n*gger I see before me?"
